{"id":34519,"date":"2019-11-17T06:00:26","date_gmt":"2019-11-17T13:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pindelski.org\/Photography\/?p=34519"},"modified":"2019-11-16T15:23:09","modified_gmt":"2019-11-16T22:23:09","slug":"the-goaz-2019-classic-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pindelski.org\/Photography\/2019\/11\/17\/the-goaz-2019-classic-show\/","title":{"rendered":"The GOAZ 2019 classic show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Some eye candy for the two wheeled aficionado.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The annual vintage and classic motorcycle show at the huge local Scottsdale, AZ dealer GOAZ was yesterday, and there was some really lovely machinery on display, not least my 1975 BMW R90\/6 which, unlike many of the garage queens here, is a daily rider and in my 30th year of ownership.<\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<i><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nOne of many buildings at the dealership.  This one has the best bikes!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_01a.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nWithout a doubt this 1926 BMW R32 was the star of the show.  Here&#8217;s the story.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_03.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nThat&#8217;s actually a horizontally opposed BMW twin!  Note the exposed drive shaft to the rear wheel.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_04.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nFour speed hand gear change.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_05.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nOriginal speedometer.  Andreas Veigel also made car clocks &#8230;. and photographic enlargers!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_06.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nHope and a prayer front brake.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_02.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nSingle seat and pressed steel luggage rack.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_07.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nMy 1975 R90\/6, now with 68,000 miles, bought from the original owner in 1990 and ridden daily.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_08.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nCrunch time.  Some tasty Kawasakis.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_09.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nClassic 1960s 2-stroke Lambretta, with exhaust scent to match!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_10.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nQuadrophenia and The Who live.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_11.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nBadge city.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_12.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nHow you know a bike is British.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_13.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nLockheed was into the bike brake business.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_14.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nJewel-like 1966 Bultaco Metralla club racer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_15.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nMoto Guzzi&#8217;s design goal was to make sure no one knew what all those warning lights did.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_16.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nGorgeous Ducati Mike Hailwood replica with cooled rear shock cylinder.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_17.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nIn the 1970s Honda was king.  This is their 1976 flat four water cooled tourer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_18.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nThe engine is low in the frame for stability, and bulletproof.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_19.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nNot content, they then designed this wild CBX 6-cylinder marvel.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_20.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nThen this exquisite 400cc four.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_22.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nThe dealership spares no expense.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_23.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nThe horse with two wheels, a modern Indian.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_27.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nBeautiful leatherwork on the Indian.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_24.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nSomeone brought along a classic Healey.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_25.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nSubtlety is not the American designer&#8217;s strong point &#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_26.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n&#8230;. but charm is abundantly on display here.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_28.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nSpooky Fast Customs will paint whatever your heart desires.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_29.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nClassic pre-war Indian detail.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_30.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nThere were some 100 classic bikes on show.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_31.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nVespa no longer makes two strokes, but they do have a fine line of scooters.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_32.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nItalian Ducatis are all about speed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_33.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nTwisted custom.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_34.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nIt&#8217;s a lifestyle for some.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/GOAZ-2019_35.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nYours truly at the show.
