{"id":38394,"date":"2024-03-10T09:44:33","date_gmt":"2024-03-10T16:44:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pindelski.org\/Photography\/?p=38394"},"modified":"2024-03-10T10:41:38","modified_gmt":"2024-03-10T17:41:38","slug":"the-tuileries-garden-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pindelski.org\/Photography\/2024\/03\/10\/the-tuileries-garden-2\/","title":{"rendered":"The Tuileries Garden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>The most perfect urban space.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.m.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tuileries_Garden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tuileries Gardens<\/a> front  the Louvre Museum and since my first visit to Paris in September, 1974 I can only think of this magical place as the most perfect urban environment in the western world.<\/p>\n<p>By the time of my visit you could say I had been preparing for this moment for a decade, a decade which saw me discover French culture, Henri Cartier-Bresson, French art and fashion.  Add the fact that I had read Proust&#8217;s 12 tome volume of manners and society not once but twice and the equally important fact that my three years with the Leica M3 now saw it as an invisible extension of my eye, then I was well and truly ready to capture this special setting.  For sheer beauty and gentleness I have yet to improve on these.<\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3748_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>Patisserie.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3749_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>A lemonade on a warm day.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3751_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>A perfect place to catch up on the news.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3754_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>Sculptures abound.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3762_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>The children in the First Arondissement are well dressed.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3767_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>A setting for contemplation &#8230;.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3768_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>&#8230;. companionship &#8230;.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3769_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>&#8230;. and reflection.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3771_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>The Orangerie houses Monet&#8217;s water lillies.  I was<br \/>\nso shattered by the work and its presentation in an oval<br \/>\nroom that I quite forgot to take pictures!<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3774_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>Perfection.  No other park compares.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3776_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>A literary nation, the French own more books per person than any other.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog2\/3780_.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<i>This man was renting sail boats for children to play with<br \/>\non the big pond.  It&#8217;s dusk and he is taking his charges home.<\/i><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n<p>Leica M3, 35mm Summaron and 90mm Elmar, TriX, negatives &#8216;scanned&#8217; with a Nikon D800.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The most perfect urban space.
