{"id":59,"date":"2006-02-07T09:50:00","date_gmt":"2006-02-07T09:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pindelski.org\/Photography\/?p=59"},"modified":"2008-03-27T13:06:57","modified_gmt":"2008-03-27T20:06:57","slug":"fix-that-flap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pindelski.org\/Photography\/2006\/02\/07\/fix-that-flap\/","title":{"rendered":"Fix that flap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>A simple workaround for the clumsy flash socket cover on the EOS 5D<\/i><\/p>\n<p>When using non-hot shoe flash, like my studio Novatron flash kit, this is how the flash cord is attached to the Canon EOS 5D body:<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog\/EOSFlash.jpg\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Can you believe this design?<\/p>\n<p>However, for less than $20, Nikon still makes a hot shoe flash adapter, the AS-15,  which can be locked in the hot shoe on the camera and the flash cord is then attached to the front:<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog\/NikonFlash.jpg\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>It makes hand holding a lot easier and you prolong the life of that very fragile flash socket cover.
