{"id":873,"date":"2008-12-15T08:14:22","date_gmt":"2008-12-15T15:14:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pindelski.org\/Photography\/2008\/12\/15\/bricked-up\/"},"modified":"2012-01-19T17:56:13","modified_gmt":"2012-01-20T00:56:13","slug":"bricked-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pindelski.org\/Photography\/2008\/12\/15\/bricked-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Bricked up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Why do I smell government at work here?<\/i><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not like only modern architects and builders have the sole franchise on <a href=http:\/\/pindelski.org\/Photography\/2008\/12\/11\/ooops-2\/ target=_blank>boo-boos<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><center><img src=http:\/\/www.pindelski.org\/Blog\/Ooops2.jpg><br \/>\n<i>5D, 24-105mm at 97mm, 1\/3000, f\/5.6, ISO 400<\/i><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Now what kind of twit would do a thing like that to a beautiful facade?  <\/p>\n<p>Could it be because the building belongs to the local government here in Paso Robles, CA?<\/p>\n<p>Maybe the person doing this was concerned about a <a href=http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Window_tax target=_blank>Window Tax<\/a> &#8211; something which wouldn&#8217;t surprise me given the composition of our local government here and its greed for tax revenues.  But wait a minute, no government would tax itself, right? And how could all that material and labor cost be cheaper than a pane of glass?  <\/p>\n<p>Eureka!  I get it now.
